Even though these anti-fatigue mats have a more textured surface pattern, the overall feel is one of comfort and cushioning. These diamond plate anti-fatigue mats have a solid surface that prevents any liquids from soaking through or being absorbed. Should something spill, simply wipe or mop up and you're good to go. You can easily get a clean cut using a straight edge and a sharp utility (razor) knife.  Please note that the cut side will not have the beveled (sloped) edge for a smooth transition on and off the floor (but should be no problem if pushed up against cabinets).
